Robert M. Barlow
After working in private industry for over 11 years, at Garden Way Manufacturing, Inc. in Troy NY as Manager of International Marketing, Bob joined the Commission On Independent Colleges and Universities (CICU) for the State of New York in 1986 as Director of Administration. His responsibilities included working closely with over 120 college presidents that were members of CICU to develop group programs related to admissions marketing, liability insurance and other group purchase opportunities. He interfaced with a board of 25 college presidents for all financial and real estate matters, and reported directly to the President of CICU.

The marketing program was called the Affordable Choice and included a Guide To Independent Colleges that was mailed to the homes of over 100,000 New York state students and another 100,000 copies to guidance counselors in the state. The cost for the guide was underwritten by bank advertising. This program continues today. Annually, thousands of qualified leads are generated from the publication for the member colleges.

Bob left CICU in 1993 to start Higher Education Marketing Associates, Inc. , where he is a co-founder, co-owner, President and Publisher. For the past ten years, it has been bringing information into the homes of hunderds of thousands of high school students in ten states through the Student Source and the College and University Bulletins. We have worked with over 200 colleges during the ten years and look forward to many years ahead.
